Tank Farm Monitoring Demonstration
Objectives:
Simulate the
FactoryNOWtm system and allow testing and demonstration of the components and capabilitiesPass information collected by FactoryNOW to third-party applications, which can be the customer's application or a Certified Application Provider.
(specifically for the demo it is the Certified Application Tank Farm Master by High Tech Services )
Phase I Basic Demo:
Provide a web input form to collect simulated tank level data. (pick a tank, and change the level). Click
here for the input form. (In real life, sensors at the tank would provide this information.)Log when an event (level change) happens, to the event log. (simulates a tank draining or filling event, in real life).
Get the tank level data and events logged into a database at the FactoryNOW server (uses the real FactoryNOW system architecture to do this over the internet)
web-based display of tank levels over the internet via browser (simple report), and a view of the event log. (these reports are real data coming out of the FactoryNOW system)Make tank level data and log files available to 3rd party applications (it's being made available to
Tank Farm Master running independently on a separate server)Phase Ia:
Add a table of "users" and their email or cell phone text message addresses, as well as their username and password (password protected to administrator).
Add an "end of shift" button to the input form, which forces a summary report to be crunched, and emailed to the users.
Dynamically refresh the report page every x seconds. (adjustable via a database setup parameter 1 sec to 15 minutes)
Phase II Enhanced demo:
Provide ability to have a high and low limits for each tank in a limits database.
Provide password protected ability to modify limits, log changes in the event log.
Change the input data form to allow for a "drain" and "fill" button which decrements/increments the tank level
Show the alarm limits in the level display screen and reports.
Change colors in the reports (or *note) when a tank is outside of limits
Monitor incoming data as it is stuffed into the database, and generate SMS or email alerts when a limit error occurs.
Phase IIa
Provide a web-form to edit tank level info via cell phone browser
Provide SMS alerts to a cell phone when limit errors occur.
Phase III External Hardware Demo
Provide a hardware-based FactoryNOW demonstrator which collects real or simulated data and sends it to the FactoryNOW system.
